SEAI Grants 2026: Every Grant Available for Irish Homeowners

Ireland is targeting 500,000 home energy upgrades by 2030. SEAI grants cover a significant portion of the cost for insulation, heat pumps, solar panels, and whole-house retrofits. Here’s the complete list for 2026.

Calculate your grants. Use the free SEAI Grant Calculator at HomeEnergyGuide.ie to see exactly what you qualify for.

Individual Energy Upgrade Grants

These grants are available for individual upgrades — you don’t need to do a full retrofit. You apply through SEAI.ie after getting quotes from registered contractors.

One Stop Shop Retrofit Grants

For a whole-house approach, SEAI’s One Stop Shop service coordinates your entire retrofit through a registered project manager. The goal is to bring your home to a BER B2 rating or better.

BER Assessment Grant

A BER assessment is required before applying for most SEAI grants. The assessment costs approximately €150–€200 + VAT. While there is no standalone BER grant, the cost is included as part of any One Stop Shop retrofit package.

Get your BER first. Before planning any upgrades, get a BER assessment to understand where your home is losing energy. Book at homerating.ie — SEAI-registered assessors since 2009, covering all of Ireland.

Landlord-Specific Grants

Landlords can access the same SEAI grants as homeowners. Additionally, Budget 2026 extended the tax deduction for retrofitting costs for small landlords to the end of 2028. This means the cost of energy upgrades on your rental property can be deducted from your rental income for tax purposes — on top of the SEAI grant.

How to Apply

  1. Get a BER assessment to understand your starting point
  2. Decide on individual upgrades or a whole-house retrofit
  3. Get 3 quotes from SEAI-registered contractors
  4. Apply on seai.ie before starting any work (grants must be approved first)
  5. Complete the work and submit completion documentation
  6. Receive your grant payment (typically 4–8 weeks after completion)
