How to Apply

  1. Contact your local authority’s vacant homes officer
  2. Submit application with property details, proof of vacancy, and renovation plan
  3. If approved, carry out works (grant paid retrospectively against invoices)

Stacking with SEAI Grants

You can combine the Vacant Property Grant with SEAI energy upgrade grants. For example: €50,000 vacant grant + €12,500 heat pump grant + €4,500 insulation grants = €67,000 in total funding. See our dedicated guide on SEAI grants at HomeEnergyGuide.ie.

A BER assessment is essential before starting. Both the vacant property grant and SEAI grants benefit from a before-and-after BER assessment. Book at Homerating.ie
